LN-RKB (cn 46871/219) "Haakon Viking". Scandinavian 931 heavy on final from CPH landing runway 24R. Built as DC-10-30, cvt'd to DC-10-30(F) freighter, and again cvt'd to MD-10-30F freighter. On February 28, 1984 at JFK as LN-RKB with SAS she overran runway rolling into the bay. Was repaired and sold to Federal Express as N311FE named "Abraham", where she was affectionally called "The Salty Dog" by employees. Wears FN 311 with FedEx. Stored at VCV on March 1, 2012. |

Built as DC-10-30, cvt'd to DC-10-30(F) freighter, and again cvt'd to MD-10-30F freighter. Other serials - N311FW with Wilmington Trust Corp Trustee. Involved in mishap February 28, 1984 at JFK as LN-RKB with SAS when she over ran runway into bay. Affectionately called "The Salty Dog" by Federal Express employees. Wears FN 311 with Federal Express. |
