151497 / 7 (cn 655) Entered service in 1960 with the US Navy. Upgraded model from the previous F4 series with improved aerodynamics to lower take-off distances and decrease landing speeds, improved engines, upgraded radar, and better ground attack ability were the primary. Armed with 18,000 pounds (8,400 kg) of weapons on nine external hardpoints, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, and various bombs. Powered by 2 General Electric J79-GE-10 turbojets 17,900 lbs thrust each. Pima Air and Space Museum.
