Untitled (De Havilland Aircraft)
De Havilland DH-91 Albatross
Hatfield (HTF / EGTH) (closed)
UK - England, October 1938
Remark
Photographer
E.2 (cn 6802) Seven Albatrosses were built. Many regard the slim tapering design as one of the most beautiful aircraft built. This example was the first of five 22-passenger examples delivered to Imperial Airways, becoming G-AFDI. E.2 was a "B Conditions" test reg. Named "Frobisher" with IAL, it was destroyed on the ground at Whitchurch, Bristol, in a German air raid on 20 December 1940. Obtained from DH Aircraft over 60 years ago.

Remark
Photographer
ZK-SAE (cn 6802) Well preserved example of this once regular visitor to Blenheim. was a famed plane at the end of 1978 because it was used by an Aussie TV team to capture night images from strange lights (UFOs) over Kaikura on 30 & 31 December 1978...

Safe Air Cargo
Armstrong Whitworth AW-650 Argosy 222
Off-Airport - Blenheim
New Zealand, February 2, 2007
Remark
Photographer
ZK-SAE (cn 6802) Just over the road from the RNZAF base at Woodbourne, this immaculately displayed machine is preserved by The Argosy Trust outside a cafe, recalling the period when it often operated from the airfield. Originally G-ASXN with BEA, it later went to Transair in Canada and then to NZ in 1974. A careful study of Google Earth back home had established that I'd get the best sun angle in the morning, but it was cloudy then. Note plastic owl bird scarer on the wing!
