Remark
Photographer
58-0325 / 13 (cn 697) "National Museum of the US Air Force" The F-101 was initially designed as a long-range bomber escort aircraft. However when high speed, high altitude bombers like the B-52 entered service, escort fighters were no longer needed. Nevertheless the Voodoos had a long and successful career as interceptors, fighter-bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. The one on display served in North Dakota and Oregon before going to the museum in 1981. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]
