G-RRGN / PS853/C (cn 6S/594677) The Rolls Royce Corporate Heritage PR19 gets airborne for a display in formation with Delta Jets’ Hunter G-FFOX. After a day of grey overcast this picture alone was worth the gate money as far as I was concerned. The picture illustrates how close a fit a modern jet-type pilot’s helmet is inside the small canopy of the Spitfire cockpit. |

It manages the operation of this PR.19 which has been owned by Rolls Royce plc since 1996 and is seen here taxiing out across the apron to depart the Valley Aviation Society charity photo-call, seen from the control tower balcony. G-RRGN / PS853/C (cn 6S/594677) Built in 1945, PS853 was one of the last Spitfires in Royal Air Force service and became a founder member of the RAF Historic Aircraft Flight, now the BBMF, in 1957. It was sold by the BBMF to Rolls Royce Corporate Heritage Department in 1996, with whom it remains, kept at Filton. It is shown participating in the 2008 Kemble Air Day.
