ST-ARN (cn 8346010) Despite the fact that Sharjah is a very busy, largely cargo airport there is very little hangarage though the superb climate means that even major servicing can be carried out in the open as shown here. This aircraft was destroyed on June 27th, 2008 when it crashed near Malakal en route from Khartoum to Juba. Seven of the eight on board were killed. |

Its sister, the ST-JUA, crashed at KRT on Nov 8th, 2007. After the accident, the -ARN was kept grounded pending the investigation. Here it is standing on the ramp of KRT, at the end of a hot afternoon in March 2007. In the background, a 707 of Sudanese States Aviation and two unknown Il-76. |

ST-ARN (cn 8346010) This An-12 has had its new registration applied rather shabbily. The engineers working on the no.2 engine were only too happy to have their aircraft photographed! |
