USA - Ohio, August 18, 2013
Remark
Photographer
60-0263 (cn 87) The USAF used the Huskie primarily for crash rescue and aircraft fire-fighting. This example is one of approximately 175 Bs purchased and it established seven world records in 1961-1962 for helicopters in its class; for rate of climb, altitude and distance travelled. It was assigned to rescue duty with Detachment 3, 42nd Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, Kirtland Air Force, NM, prior to its retirement and display at the National Museum of the USAF in April 1973.

USA - Ohio, April 16, 2014
Remark
Photographer
60-0263 (cn 87) "National Museum of the US Air Force" Primarily intended for rescue missions, the Huskie was extensively used for that purpose and flew more rescue missions in the Korean and Vietnam Wars than all other aircraft combined. Its unique design feature are the wooden rotors. The displayed Huskie did not serve in Vietnam but with the 42nd Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, Kirtland Air Force, N.M.
