Germany - Air Force
English Electric Canberra B2
Berlin - Gatow (GWW / EDUG) (closed)
Germany, June 1, 2011
Remark
Photographer
9935 (cn R3/EA3/6652) Disguised as 'photographic survey' or 'radar calibration' aircraft, Germany's three Canberras actually flew electronic intelligence missions along the Iron Curtain, a fact that seems to be little known

Remark
Photographer
9935 (cn R3/EA3/6652) RAF B.2 WK138 was one of three delivered to Luftwaffe experimental establishment Erprobungstelle 61 at Manching in October 1966. Two (including this one) were then transferred to the Militarische Geografische Amt (Military Geographic Service) at Jever, and fitted with photographic and survey equipment. They returned to Erprobungstelle 61 in 1977 and 99+35 is seen here at the International Air Tattoo in 1983. It is now in the Luftwaffe Museum, Gatow.

English Electric Canberra B2
Southend - Rochford (SEN / EGMC)
UK - England, November 1976
Remark
Photographer
D-9566 (cn R3/EA3/6652) Originally delivered to the RAF in 1954 as WK137, this eye-catching Canberra was initially intended to be used as a target tug out of Oberpfaffenhofen from 1966 with Eprobungstelle 61 but instead was used for various systems trials. It then went on to perform survey work with special camera fits at the Mil Geo Amt, Koln, becoming 99+34. Last flight 27.10.93 and now in a museum at Schwenningen. In 1991 the lower wing surfaces from an RAF TT.18 were fitted after an engine fire; the yellow and black stripes can still be seen
