XG594 / 517 (cn WA89) Built by Westland at Yeovil in 1957. Operated along the south coast - RNAS Lee-on-Solent, RNAY Fleetlands, HMS Bulwark, RNAS Portland, RNAS Culdrose and Boscombe Down. Struck off charge in Mar-1970, and allocated to the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Displayed at the Scottish Strathallan and East Fortune Museums since 1982. Returned to the FAAM's Cobham Hall in 2003. |

N90831 / 517 (cn 049-1970) What a fantastic sight of the Pima Museum. The TWA 'Connie' stood out for me, but its not the only one in this picture. There are some classic airliners towards the bottom of the screen like the Caravelle and Viscount, fighters towards the top like the F-14 Tomcat and F-15 Eagle, plus a special selection of 4 former US Presidential aircraft (right centre) which include the other 'Connie', a Jetstar, DC-6 and a 707. |
