WT510 / 854 (cn EEP71373) Built in the mid fifties as a PR.7 and served with the RAF. After transfer to the Royal Navy in 1971 this Canberra became the first to be fitted and tested with the Blue Parrot radar. The aircraft was scrapped around 1993 having served with the FRADU (Fleet Requirements Air Direction Unit) until 1988. Photographed late in the evening having been on static display for a family and neighbours day. |

G-BTBH / 854 (cn 2063) The STA, Ryan’s first aircraft, was a sports aircraft adapted as a military trainer for foreign air forces before adoption by the US forces for training during WW2. The tiny aeroplane was a sharp contrast with the more common Stearman biplane, which was enormous by comparison. This little 1942 Ryan is owned by Peter Holloway of Southam, Coventry. Prior to 2004 it was registered N854. It is seen here queuing for departure from the Great Vintage Flying Weekend. (400D, Sigma 80-400 & fluid-head tripod) |
