61-0011 / BD (cn 464438) Dominating the static park at Leuchars Airshow was this B-52H from the 93rd Bomb Squadron, part of the US Air Force Reserve Command, based at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. The tail unit houses search radar as well as defensive electronic warfare systems. The "cheesegrater" vents, which can clearly be seen in this shot, have long since replaced the 20mm cannon formerly located there. |
