General Dynamics F-111E Aardvark
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, February 10, 1989
Remark
Photographer
68-0159 / CC (cn A1-239) Another sunny Friday afternoon at Dobbins, and another visitor (probably RON- remain overnight) from the 27th TFW at Cannon AFB, NM. This Aardvark bears the insignia of the 522nd TFS "Fireballers" and the corresponding red tail stripe. The regular appearances of these intriguing planes at Dobbins was always a pleasure.

They were to be the last F-111s in service with the USAF until they retired in 1998. Afterwards the USAF had to share electronic warfare aircraft with the USN and US Marines.
