USA - Air Force
Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II
Lajes / Azores (AB4) (TER / LPLA)
Portugal, October 25, 2012
Remark
Photographer
78-0639 / CT (cn A10-0259) There were five Thunderbolt's that afternoon on their way to the USA, landing under a great winter light!! The 188th Squadron, named "The Flying Razorbacks" is another that is destined to be deactivated soon, and that mean that we won't be seeing these guys anymore around here... ZE830 / CT (cn 718/AT032/3327) 5 Squadron. This aircraft was written off on the 17th November 1999 as a result of the left hand engine breaking up and exploding. This damaged the right hand engine forcing both crew to eject. The aircraft crashed into the North Sea approximately 20 miles east of St. Abbs Head.

USA - Air Force
Gates Learjet C-21A (35A)
Windsor Locks (Hartford / Springfield) - Bradley International (BDL / KBDL)
USA - Connecticut, August 14, 2010
Remark
Photographer
84-0128 / CT (cn 35A-574) A look inside of the cabin of one of these military Lears operated by the Connecticut Air National Guard. It's all business here - none of the fripperies seen on private jets. The Flying Yankees transport VIPs, soldiers who need to get somewhere fast, and can also be converted into a Medevac jet. This also displays the power of in-body stablization - handheld at 1/6s. Sony Alpha a700, Konica Minolta 11-18 DT.
