NX251RJ / CY-D (cn 124-44703) This Mustang is originally P-51D-25-NT serial 44-84847, one of the last Mustangs constructed at North American Aviation's Dallas, Texas, plant. There is evidence that it served with the 45th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron at Kimpo, in South Korea, in September 1951 during the Korean War. By the Fighter Collection at Duxford flies in marking of P-51D-10-NA serial 44-14561, named Miss Velma, piloted by Capt Frank Birtciel during his operational tour by 343rd Fighter Squadron / 55th Fighter Group dislocated in 1944-45 at Wormingford airfield. |
