PA474 / HW-R A rare site in the skies above Lancashire; the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight consisting of an Avro Lancaster (PA474), Submerine Spitfire (AB910) and Hawker Hurricane (PZ865). These historic aircraft are seen here performing a flyby at Blackpool airport before splitting for landing. They were arriving after a display at nearby Rhyl for refueling and would display at the Blackpool Airshow 2009 the day after. PA474 / HW-R Touchdown on runway 28. This rare visitor to Blackpool was calling in for fuel with the Spitfire and Hurricane from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight after displaying at nearby Rhyl. They stayed for 2 hours before departing to perform at Silloth, then returning to display at the Blackpool Airshow 2009. The BBMF then retured home to RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire.
