7711 (cn 81-09) This an-26 crash-landed in 1997 at the airstrip of Gogrial. The plane got hit by SPLA-fire and had to make an emergency landing. Antonovs were used in the Sudanese Civil War as bombers and were feared by the population of Southern Sudan. 'VVll' is Arabic for '7711', which is written in Western-style numbers on the port-side. |

ST-SAT (cn 5 34 35 02) Sarit lost six An-12s in 2003-2004, according to reports. Three of the Ans crashed in or near Wau, in Southern-Sudan. These are the remains of Alpha Tango, that crashed on June 26th, 2004 during take off after birds struck two of its propellors. The plane caught fire and three years later four burned turbo props were still laying in the field. |

An impressive number of exotic aircraft are present: including An-12 ST-ASA, Il-76s ST-AQB and ST-APS of AZZA, Il-76 XT-FCB of Faso Airways and quite a few planes of the Sudanese Air Force. The Mils on the ramp are active, the ones parked on the edge probably are not. |
