North American F-100F Super Sabre
Dayton - Wright-Patterson AFB (Wright AFB) (DWF) (closed)
USA - Ohio, August 18, 2013
Remark
Photographer
56-3837 / HE (cn 243-113) Initially conceived as a two-seat training version of the F-100, to help reduce the retatively high rate of accident losses, the F-version in SE Asia proved ideally suited for new missions: surface to air missile (SAM) suppression ('Iron Hand') and high-speed forward air control ('Misty FAC'). This Hun was a Misty FAC aircraft assigned to the 37th TFW at Phu Cat AB, Vietnam and went on display at the National Museum of the USAF in 2003.

USA - Ohio, August 18, 2013
Remark
Photographer
53-4299 (cn 4501323) During the early Cold War years the USAF needed to be able to gather information, such as location, range and coverage, on Soviet radar capability. To meet this need the RB-47H was developed (from the B-47E) and this example came the the National Museum of the USAF in 1998 and following extensive restoration went on display in 2003. She was originally delivered in 1955 and served with the 55th Strategic Reconnaisance Wing until 1966.
