55-3932 / 37 (cn 227-117) The waning light of a sultry afternoon softly illuminates this Sabre drone on the NAS Atlanta transit line. One of a batch of 215 bought by U.S. military credits for Japan, it was one of many such transferred from Taiwan and Japan to the U.S. Navy in the mid-1980's. Based at the old Pacific Missile Test Center at Point Mugu, CA, this classic jet fighter, along with others at NWC China Lake, was used for live missile and weapons tests. |
