VH-AAL (cn 606) Vowell Air Services / Peninsula Ambulance Service Bell 206A VH-AAL takes off from Phillip Island Race Circuit in May 1971. The helo, named Angel of Mercy, had been on standby at the Phillip Island 500k car racing meeting. VH-AAL was the first full-time dedicated Ambulance Helicopter in Australia, starting ops in 1970. The Bell 206A Jet Ranger was later upgraded to Bell 206B Specification. |
