CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) Check out the fire coming out of No.1 engine caused by a compressor stall or surge! During its take-off roll (probably near V1) 4 extremely loud bangs came from the aircraft, and fire started to come out of the engine. The captain managed to stop the TriStar before the end of the runway, and after inspections it taxied back to its stand under its own power. The aircraft remains stored at AMS to this day. |

CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) This Tristar has been at Amsterdam for nearly three years now. troubled by subsequent engine failures in 2004 it was thought never to leave Amsterdam again. Now the end is near. The end of its stay at Schiphol that is! Engineers have been working hard the last few months and it will soon take to the skies again. Until then enjoy this magnificent cockpit, it is incredibly spacious and accomodates 5 seats! |

CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) During the take-off run I heard three very loud bangs (compressor stall or surge) after which the take-off was aborted. When the plane stood still the left landing gear was smoking. A few moments later the right landing gear caught fire and then the emergency services arrived. [Nikon D70] |

CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) This L1011 (operating for Dutch Caribbean) has aborted its takeoff roll and 3 very loud bangs were heard while heavily breaking due to flames out of one of the engines. This was caused by a compressor stall or surge. Smoke on the main gear because of the emergency breaking, and later 8 tyres burst and the runway was blocked that day. [Nikon D100] |

CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) After an aborted takeoff due to a compressor stall or surge this Tristar needed a new set of wheels and suspension. It looks incredibly shiny, and this perspective offers a nice view on the brakediscs. |

CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) Due to a compressor stall or surge in the no. 2 engine the aircraft made an emergency stop while taking-off runway 24. This resulted, as you can see, in a blow-out of 8 tires. 10 Hours after the incident happened the aircraft was towed to the apron for inspection. |

CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) After 40 minutes the passengers were allowed to leave the aircraft. DCA flight K8 2000 had to abort its take off roll after an engine compressor stall or surge. The aircraft's brakes and strut had severe damage. The aircraft couldn't move by itself nor be towed so the runway was blocked all day. Huge trucks were needed to move the aircraft to a proper location. |
