G-YMMM (cn 30314/342) Going back through my archives i found this shot of G-YMMM. This aircraft crashed at LHR on the 17th January 2008 and became the first triple seven to be involved in a serious incident. Here she is in her previous glory, landing on 27R in some beautiful early morning sunshine operating BA068 inbound from PHL. (Canon10D/100-400LIS) |

G-YMMM (cn 30314/342) The recovery operation begins. Actually witnessing the scene brought home the extraordinarily short distance in which Triple Mike stopped. The lack of deformation is some credit to the integrity of Boeing's design, too |

G-YMMM (cn 30314/342) G-YMMM (operating flight BA038 from Beijing) made a crash landing at runway 27L, Heathrow today. The aircraft came to a halt at the runway holding point after touching down 300 meters+ short of the landing zone. Note the rudder is used on final, prahaps a sign of crosswind? |
