Ex G-BFEU (regd 26.10.77), became VH-WOD on 23 Apr 1982 (the WO in reg stands for Woodside Offshore Petroleum) to N505R Roberts Aircraft registered to Roberts as 30/1/2001, but were not shipped until 1st March 2001, departing Fremantle on the MV Talisman, bound initially for Long Beach. Operated by Geo-Seis Helicopters Inc. To HC-CDO then back to N505R on 29/4/2003. |

Photo taken by my father Peter Eyre, from helicopter of Mayne-Bristow Helicopters. This rare photo shows the old, small terminal and car park (later demolished) next to the apron, and the new terminal and car park under construction. Runway 08/26 is off top of photo, control tower off to left, Mayne-Bristow hangars off to right. Visible are 3 single-engine Cessnas, Aero Commander 680E of Barpet Aviation (VH-CAX or CAY), and a Beech King Air 200 (prob VH-TLX) and a Cessna 310R, both of Skywest Airlines. |

VH-FKE (cn 11040) Photo taken by my father, Peter Eyre. Karratha Airport, seen from VH-FKE, before landing on runway 26, after flight Perth-Learmonth-Karratha. The two Mayne-Bristow Helicopters hangars are visible, as is the old terminal. Behind are the salt flats and the Burrup Peninsula, with Parker Point iron-ore ship loading jetty just visible. VH-FKE became C-GFKE of Time Air/Canadian Regional in Aug 1996. WFU 14.12.96 Calgary. BU from 4.97, hulk to Calgary Airport Fire Dept - still there July 2007. |

Mayne-Bristow Helicopters heliport at Karratha Airport. The heliport is actually owned by Woodside Petroleum, the main clients of Mayne-Bristow (now known as Bristow Helicopters Australia). Visible Mayne-Bristow helicopters are an Agusta-Bell 206 JetRanger, and Bell 212, with an SA330J Puma and another JetRanger in the left hangar. Taken from VH-ESQ Cessna 172M Skyhawk of Karratha Flying Services on take-off from runway 26. |

Originally arrived at KTA as VR-BEZ, but went to Whirl-Wide Helicopters in New Zealand for a contract, then came back as VH-BEE to Mayne-Bristow. Seen here after repainting in new Mayne-Bristow colours, having completed a major overhaul. The 212s were used for general utility/oil support work and back-ups for the Pumas, and used on RAAF SAR contract. Later to G-BTYA, 9Y-TIF. |

Seen after return from onshore oil support contract with Pacific Helicopters in PNG, where it was registered VR-BIG and painted all-white and stripped of floatation gear (see my photo of VR-BIG). It is seen here after being painted in Mayne-Bristow colours as VH-WOF. W/off 12.5.91 Mermaid Sound, Dampier- on marine pilot pick-up from departing LNG tanker in night VFR conditions, entered vortex ring state and ditched. Stayed afloat for over 2 hrs. |

On contract to Pilbara Harbour Services (hence PHS logo on door), to ferry marine pilots/harbourmasters out to salt and iron-ore carriers entering the nearby port of Dampier. Written-off two months after this, on 20.11.86 - ditched near East Intercourse Island, Dampier. |

PH-SSB (cn 1583) Built 1979 ex F-WXFM,PH-SSB,PK-TRF. Brought to Australia for an oil support contract to fly to Jabiru oil field off WA coast near Broome, but contract was won by Mayne-Bristow Helicopters. The contract required an Australian operator, so Schreiner linked up with Jayrow Offshore, hence the dual titles. Was to be registered VH-JRO but not taken up - this is the taped over registration on tailboom. The Puma was stored at Perth since mid-1985. Later went back to Europe. Later regd I-EHPJ,F-GHYR,LX-HUL,PT-HAA,LX-HUL,F-GINQ,EC-JLK. |
