A6-EBT (cn 32730/585) [08:16] My 100th upload shows a beautiful view of the City on a rare overcast day in Dubai. I was onboard flight EK017 to Manchester (MAN/EGCC), England. The worlds tallest man-made structure ever built, the 828 metre (2,717 feet) Burj Khalifa (Burj Dubai) can be seen in the middle. [Canon 400D + 18-55mm @ 18mm] |

[08:13] A view up Dubai's dark asphalt runway 30R onboard Emirates flight EK017 to Manchester (MAN/EGCC) in the UK operated by a Boeing 777-300ER (A6-EBT). An Emirates A330-200 (A6-EKQ) can be seen just after departure ahead as it climbs into the dark sky on this very overcast day. [Canon 400D + 18-55mm @ 55mm] |

A6-EYS (cn 991) [12:46] Coral (Economy) class of this new EY A332 which would take me to Abu Dhabi (AUH/OMAA) as flight EY 601 and then straight after to Manchester (MAN/EGCC) as flight EY 015. It's very nice having a 2-4-2 config on a wide-body aircraft. [Canon 400D + 18-55mm @ 18mm] |

ZS-SJW (cn 145423) [14:54] On the 7th December 2009 after a normal landing on a slightly wet runway 11 this aircraft failed to slow down, burst through the perimeter fence at the end of the runway, went down a slight embankment and then came to rest on the road which goes around the airport. All 33 people on board survived. [Canon 400D + 18-55mm @ 33mm] |

HB-JMO (cn 179) [06:21] First photo of the new and improved Swiss A340 cabin taken after arrival from Johannesburg (JNB). These new business class seats which are in a strange 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 config now fully recline. They have also improved the first and economy class (where I was sat) cabins. [15:28] First overview of NDIA (New Doha International Airport). It is currently just over 90% complete and should replace the current airport just 5km away on the 12/12/12, almost 4 years later than planned. Its main runway is 4,850m (15,910 ft) long, making it one of the longest in the world and when fully complete the airport will be able to handle six Airbus A380s simultaneously. G-CIVI (cn 25814/1079) [11:34] A smoking 747, not something you see everyday. To celebrate Newcastle Airports 75th Anniversary Birthday BA used this big bird on the short 250 mile London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) to NCL route. I would fly on her back to LHR (flight BA 1327) at 11:55 ! [Canon 400D + 18-55mm @ 18mm] |

ZS-OAG (cn 27168/2435) [14:01] When we were taxing to the Terminal (after landing from CPT) I was surprised to see this Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340-600 (G-VBUG) parked on taxiway J2. You can clearly see people giving it a good wash. They also do this with their Boeing 747-400's when they fly here (from LHR) and with a turn around time of just over 12 hours, they might as well. The old birds parked behind the VS include a Nationwide B737-200/Adv, a Starts Away DC-9(F)/DC-8(F), and at the end a DC-3. [Canon 400D + 18-55mm @ 55mm] |
