N764PA (cn 18339/292) This photo was taken December 1, 1979 departing Port-au-Prince, Haiti winging toward the Windward Passage on our way to Miami. Florida. My dream was to one-day fly on a Boeing 707 and this was the day my dream came true. Minolta SRT 101 50mm lens. |

53-0987 (cn 201-431) This photo is of a F-86L part of the Texas Air National Guard in 1960 at NAS Dallas. The Guard commander took me over to the flight line in his staff car when I mentioned to him I wanted to build a scale model of the F-86D. This is the plane he let me photograph and sit in the cockpit, turned on the master and let me move the stick around and hear the power boosted controls. For a 16-year-old kid who loves airplanes, it doesn’t any better than that. First photo for the database. Brownie Starflex Camera |

55-3520 / 6 (cn 223-202) This is a photo taken at the 1967 Tinker Air Force Base open house. Then Capt. Merrill “Tony” McPeak but now Chief of Staff of the USAF Ret. flew the number 6 bird on the right. Two months after this, McPeak, on Oct. 21, 1967 at Laughlin AFB Del Rio, Texas pulled the wings off old number six going up through the center of the bomb burst snap rolling. Search the net. (McPeak Bomb Burst) Tony tells the total story, highly recommended. Capt. Bob Beckel piloted number 5 |

148544 / 544 (cn 12737) This is a photo that I took when I was 16 years old at the 1960 Model Airplane Championships, NAS Dallas in July 1960. This photo was taken right at engine shut down. The base would be closed from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM then they would start flight operations with all us kids having the run of the place. I call this the miracle photo for it was the only one from that trip that was properly exposed and in focus from my point and shoot camera. |

N764PA (cn 18339/292) This photo was taken on December 1, 1979 on our final approach to Miami, International Airport. We were returning from a week’s vacation in Haiti. This was my first flight on a 707 and I remember being amazed at the amount flexibility the wing and engine nacelles had, it made me very uneasy. Minolta SRT-101 |

147734 (cn 12498) This is a photo of Skyhawk 147734 flown by Lt. J.G. Woody Grover at NAS Dallas. I was 16 years old at the time and wanted to be a pilot but had very bad self-esteem and felt that was beyond my reach. Lt. Grover visited with me and said he was the same way when he was my age and said that I could do it. He was right; Woody this photo is for you where ever you are. Brownie Starflex Camera |

79-0199 / EL (cn A10-0463) This is a close up shot of the nose of an A-10 Thunderbolt at the 1987 Air Show America event at Will Rogers World Airport at the home of the FAA in Oklahoma City. This plane was in the 23rd. Fighter interceptor Wing whose heritage goes back to the Flying Tigers of World War II which eventually became the 23rd. Fighter Group. I thought it was cool that they still paint the tiger teeth on their planes. |

147039 This is a photograph of a F8U-2N at the main hangar NAS Dallas during the 1960 National Model Airplane Championships. A Navy seaman tugged a brand-new Crusader over for us to look at after a gun test, still had gun dust on the plane. The Vought factory was on the base and Crusaders were everywhere. I climbed up on some scaffolding trying to get a shot into the cockpit with my Brownie Starflex Camera. |

146337 / NJ This is a photo of one of 12 McDonnell F3H-2 Demons parked in a line on the ramp at NAS Dallas in July of 1960. In the back ground you can see the Texas ANG F-86D's on the field that were the only planes that would fly during the time the base was closed for the AMA National Model Airplane Championships. I was 16 at the time and it was like being in a candy store. Brownie Starflex Camera fixed lens. |

N1226N / 29629/48 (cn 29629) This is a photo of a P-40N at the Aerospace America air show of 1990 at Will Rogers World Airport. I always called this photo “TIGER TALK” because the sky writer had smoked out RER in the sky and I thought that was appropriate above the P-40's teeth. This plane at the time was based out of Midland Odessa Texas. Photographed with a Pentax 6X7 45mm wide angle lens. |

CCCP-82060 (cn 19530503763) This photo was taken at the Aerospace America air show at Will Rogers World Airport in 1990. I thought the C-5A was the largest cargo plane until I saw this at the air show. The great thing about the 1990 air show was the fact that you could get up close to the aircraft and no one cared unless they were going to start engines, those were the good old days. |

N6937C (cn 4830) This is a photo N6937C at the Aerospace America airshow at Will Rogers World Airport in 1990. This was the first time I had seen this plane and so happy some one was willing to invest in it's restoration. I can't remember how many times Connie's would fly over my house going to Will Rogers to land back in the 1950's and 60's and as a kid I would just be mesmerized by the sound and presents of these great planes. This shot was through the front entry door which was open. Pentax 6x7 with 55mm lens |

N6183C (cn 168-51) I turned around and saw this women standing on the wing of this AT-6G and thought to my self “This is my kind of flight instructor.” This photo was taken at the 1990 Aerospace America air show at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. This is the first photo of this plane for this data base. Pentax 6x7 90mm lens. |
