KD431 / E2-M (cn 1871) This Corsair was Built at Akron, Ohio by Goodyear Aircraft Co as an FG-1A in 1944 and powered by a 2,000hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800-8 Double Wasp radial engine. Its first flight was 22/08/1944 at Goodyear before delivery by Lockheed to Glasgow in November 1944. It served with several RNAS sqadrons until 1945 making its final deck landing 07/12/1945. She arrived at FAAM in 1963 undergoing light restored between 2000 and 2005 revealing it's original paintwork and markings (Canon 50D + Sigma 10-20 EX DC HSM) |
