Leased to Express One 3.93, AvAtlantic 11.95, Sterling One 1.12.95 (used by Bob Dole in Presidential Campaign in 1996), Champion Air 23.9.97. Still flying in 2006. Behind are a Boeing 737-2H6Adv of Malaysian Airlines System (MAS) and a Boeing 707-320C of Cathay Pacific.

1***** Aircraft of Carrier Air Wing Two (CVW-2) aboard USS Ranger (CV-61), anchored off Fremantle. F-14A Tomcats of VF-1 and VF-2, A-6E Intruders of VA-145 and VMA(AW)-121, E-2C Hawkeyes of VAW-116, EA-6B Prowlers of VAQ-131, SH-3H Sea Kings of HS-14, S-3A Vikings of VS-38, and a C-2A and rare US-3A of VRC-50 were aboard. USS Ranger was decommissioned on 10 July 1993 and is now berthed at Bremerton, Washington, and a group is campaigning to have her converted to a museum.

A3-21 (cn 21) 75 Sqn, RAAF Darwin, NT – cockpit open for inspection. 75 Sqn was the last in the RAAF to operate the Mirage III (until Sep 1988), as 3 Sqn had already converted to F/A-18A and 77 Sqn was in process of converting. 79 Sqn in Butterworth, Malaysia was also still flying the Mirage III, but only until 4.88. Del 16/09/65. Served 75 Sqn, 3 Sqn, 2OCU, 75 Sqn Darwin. Finished RAAF Service with 3887 hours on airframe. Std 03/10/88 at Woomera, to Pakistan Air Force 11/90 as 90-521. Still in PAF service.

VH-JAW (cn J-26) Nose wheel collapse. The crew had flown it in as usual to collect oil crews for Bond Oil’s “Harriet” field on Lowendal Island, but after 30 mins on the ground, the nose oleo deflated, slightly damaging the nose gear doors. It was was all repaired in 3 hours and the aircraft departed to Lowendal Island. Built 1947 as a Mallard, reg NC2966. 1972 cvtd by Frakes to Turbo Mallard. 1975 to C-GHUM. 1983 to N2419X, then VH-JAW. 1985 to Vowell for Bond Oil contract.

1***** / NF USS Midway (CV-41), docked in Fremantle. Midway was built during World War Two, commissioned on 10 September 1945. At this time it was based at Yokosuka, Japan. Decommissioned on 10 April 1992, she is now a floating aircraft museum in San Diego, California. Aircraft aboard belonged to Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5), including F/A-18A Hornets of VFA-195, VFA-192 & VFA-151; A-6E & KA-6D Intruders of VA-115 & VA-185; EA-6B Prowlers of VAQ-136; E-2C Hawkeyes of VAW-115, and SH-3H Sea Kings of HS-12.

Carrying supplies for US Navy carrier battle group (USS Constellation CV-64), which was visiting the nearby port of Fremantle at the time. Later to 62ndAW, McChord AFB, then flown to AMARC Davis-Monthan AFB on 22 Jul 1993 for storage with code AACR0008. Broken-up on 18 Jun 2003 and scrapped.

G-BOAF (cn 216) Last Concorde visit to Perth, and last Concorde built. Around world charter by wealthy Americans - US$30,000 per seat. Was to visit Perth previous day (also first visit by B747-400), but lost part of upper rudder, enroute Christchurch to Sydney on 12.4.89. Had to wait for a rudder to be flown from UK. Landed on rwy 21 at 10.30. Perth was a fuel stop only. Pushed back after 40-min delay at 12.30, took off from rwy 03 as BA9051 to Colombo, callsign "Speedbird Concorde Alpha Foxtrot". Now preserved at Filton.

G-AWNC (cn 19763/48) "City of Belfast" departs at 16.30 as "Speedbird 12" on the then-regular service to Singapore, Bombay, Bahrain and London-Heathrow, a service that was later ceased when BA took a stake in Qantas. This aircraft was later named "Lake Windermere". WFS 31.10.98, TT 105198hrs, 21776 cycles. To Air Gulf Falcon 29.11.99 as P4-GFA, later reregd 3D-GFA. WFU at Marana, Arizona 29.5.00 - still there in 2005 waiting to be broken up.

In 1952 when owned by Christian Dior, famous passengers included Aga Khan & King Farouk of Egypt. 1966 sold and based in Michigan, USA. 1972 bought by Frakes & converted to Turbo Mallard & used as a demonstrator until 1975 when it became C-GHUM. 1983 sold to Air Whitsunday (ferried as N2419X) & regd VH-JAW. 1985 sold to Vowell and seen here on delivery. Used to fly oil workers to Harriet oil field,Lowendal Island. To VH-PPT of Paspaley Pearling.

9M-PIB (cn G999) This aircraft appeared at 1981 Paris Air Show as VH-SXT. Later to Pan Malaysian Air Transport as 9M-PIB. Lengthy rebuild at Jandakot 1988-early 1990 before being regd VH-JHQ to F Hampton, Northam, WA on 5 Apr 1990. Later w/off in crash & canc from register 23.5.94. These agricultural aircraft have been in production since 1965. Fully aerobatic & carries two passengers in cabin behind hopper. Unusual tail enables vehicle to drive up to fuselage for easy loading of hopper.

YR-ABD (cn 21651/938) 2nd-last civil B707 built. Landed 12.26 with President Nicolae Ceausescu aboard. WA had trade agreements with Romania - WA supplied iron ore & they supplied locomotives to transport ore to ports. Local Romanians protested against political dissidents being imprisoned & tortured by Government. A year later, regime was overthrown & President was executed. First flt 19.3.79, del 30.3.79. To Tarom 27.2.90, then Romavia. w/o 10.1.91 Bucharest- landed hard, engines 1 & 2 hit runway, wing broke, caught fire.

Struck off charge 14.1.97. Dumped NAS Jacksonville. Wreck was reportedly to be used in an artificial reef in October 1998 - does anyone know details?
