4L-IRA (cn 9346510) A black backdrop which makes you think of something really bad that has happened. It was 'just' a fuel pipeline on fire, which made the authorities evacuate the airport -as a precaution. After an hour or so, the fire was extinguished and operations were continued. The 4L-IRA was not the only An-12 around. Three colleagues were parked at a ramp close to the UN-part of the airport. |

S9-PSV (cn 1AJ008-13) Sierra Victor has been grounded at least since early 2008. New rules in Eastern Africa have restricted the use of Antonovs, so the future doesn't look too bright for this Polish-built plane. |

3D-AIR (cn 60) Photographed in the early morning sunlight at LKG, this hull of the 3D-AIR. The plane was stored at Liege, Belgium, for a while, but made it all the way to Kenya to get cannibalized for the 5Y-TAJ. |

S9-BAS (cn 382-4472) This Hurk came in an interesting way to its end: on June 10th, 2005, Loki's runway was blocked by HS748 5Y-SFE which had made a gear up landing. The crew of the L100 decided to land anyway and landed hard just before the beginning of the runway. The Hercules broke in two and came to a halt next to Foxtrot Echo. Alpha Sierra got repaired, but just before she reached completion, the repair-contractor left without paying his staff. The Hurk was taken half apart again and now she is going nowhere anymore. |

S9-CAH (cn 1AJ005-12) The name of the fomer owner, Goliaf Air, is slightly visible on the An-28. The machine got grounded after Kenyan Aviation Authorities officially banned Antonovs from its airports, Oct 08. But the plane has not been seen flying since at least early 2008. The last known operator was Flightpath. The tail in front is from Antonov 12 9L-LFQ. The cargo liner broke its nose gear and is awaiting its fate. |

5Y-BTN (cn UE-118) Fly540 had leased two Beech 1900D aircraft from Executive Turbine, the 5Y-BVG (UE-062) being the other one. The fleet of Fly540 is very diverse: ATR42, Dash-8, F-27 cargo, B1900. In Toulouse, France, ATR-72-500s have been spotted in full Fly540 livery, but for unclear reasons these have never been delivered to the operator. |

UP-I1802 (cn 185 0086 03) A candy for Christmas, this Daallo Ilyushin at Jomo Kenyatta. It is most likely the plane flew relief goods to Somalia, since trailers that were surrounding the plane while loading contained all sorts of relief items. |

5Y-BRP (cn 44632) Romeo Papa looks still in good condition, even after being stored for 10 years. Mid-2008 the owner visited the plane, in order to check if the machine could be brought back in flying status. The future of Let-410 9L-LCT looks less bright.. |

5Y-SJP (cn 44635) This DC-6A came to Africa in the mid-90s to fly cargo to Southern Sudan during the civil war. Late 90s this machine has been withdrawn from use. Above the windows U.S. Air Force titles are slightly visible through the fainting paint. |
