In 2003 was formally designated Boeing CT-49A and presently is used by the NATO Airborne Early Warning & Control Force at Geilenkirchen airbase in Germany for cargo purposes and training for the AWACS crews. NAEWF is organised into four squadrons, which operate from four main bases and several forward bases. Currently used 17 E-3A Sentry (AWACS) and 3 CT-49A. Crew training is performed by the No. 4 Squadron. |

Just now is this Boeing assigned to 8° Gruppo "I Cavalieri" (squadron) / 14° Stormo "Sergio Sartoff" (wing) dislocated at Pratica di Mare. However, to date, none of the four aircraft ordered have been delivered to the Italian air force due to ongoing problems with their in flight refueling equipment. |

Šmolík designed type Š-18, after instalation fowerful engine arose Š-118 version and with the NZ-120 engine Š-218. Letov built 44 planes and 10 machines were delivered to Finland.
