HB-RDG / 4-F6/319 (cn 3381) Delivered to US Navy in May 1945 it was converted to TBM-3R version in 1953 and assigned to VR-22 at NAS Norfolk. It went on to become N3966A, in 1989 G-BTDP and in 2006, HB-RDG. Until 2009 it was flown as a 3R, a seven-seat Carrier transport in VR-22 livery "Charlie´s Heavy". During 2010 an upper ball turret was fitted and it now carries French Navy livery of Escadrille 4F. Since 2012 flies in markings similar to TBM-3 of Marine Carrier Air Group MCVG-4 from USS Cape Gloucester (CVE-109) at the end of Pacific War. |

F-AZSB / 411622/G4-C (cn 122-40967) This Mustang is originally P-51D-30-NA serial 44-74427 delivered in 1945, never saw WW2 service and stored, than transferred to Royal Canadian Air Force as 9592. In 1959 was sold to civilian users and changed registrations N9148R and N2251D. In 1999 was sold to France and registered F-AZSB. Presently is painted as P-51K-5-NT, serial 44-11622 "Nooky Booky IV" of Major Leonard "Kit" Carson, Commander of 362nd Fighter Squadron / 357th Fighter Group operated in April-May 1945 from RAF Leiston. Major Carson was top scoring ace of the whole 357th FG, with 18,5 victories on his account. |
