168428 / LL-428 (cn 40808/3612) I was lucky enough to catch a Navy P-8 crew practicing some approaches at Knoxville the day I visited. The "LL" tail code belongs to VP-30 "Pro's Nest" out of NAS Jacksonville, FL. VP-30 is the Navy's only Patrol Fleet Replacement Squadron, responsible for training new crews on P-3 and P-8 aircraft - and is the largest squadron of any type in the Navy. Here, "Navy 428 Lima Lima" goes missed on a Runway 23R approach. |

N540S (cn 9) Ah, the air show off-season. I decided to drop by Millington on a recent trip and was rewarded with Skip Stewart's hospitality. Skip Stewart is based in Millington; he and his mechanic were fine-tuning new wings fitted to his heavily-modified Pitts the day I visited. Very nice guys and I'll make a point to catch their show next time they're in my neck of the woods. |

N79402 (cn 30119/857) United has operated 757s into Bradley for many years, but with their latest schedule, that type has disappeared here only to be replaced with similarly-sized 737-900 equipment. Former Continental 737-800s have also started to make appearances at Bradley. Here, United 1707 to O'Hare gets underway from Runway 24. |
