N944GA / 544 (cn 5044) The undoubted highlight amongst the UEFA Cup Final football traffic at EDI today was this "Nachshon Etam" or Pioneer Fish Eagle on delivery to the Israeli Air Force. It is the third such AEW&C aircraft to be delivered. |

CA-01 (cn 372) Smoke billows from this Belgian Defence A310 after the aircraft developed a fire in the port engine on landing. The incident immediately saw a full response from the airport's fire section, although the fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival at the scene. After inspection, the aircraft was able to taxi using its own power under the watchful eye of a fleet of fire trucks. |

61-0032 / BD (cn 464459) "Scalp 99" looks rather ungainly and lopsided as it manoeuvres on the Western ORP on completion of its trip from Barksdale AFB to take part in the annual Leuchars Airshow. The aircraft is operated by the 93rd Bomb Squadron, part of the 917th Wing/AFRC. |

CA-01 (cn 372) On landing at Edinburgh today, this Belgian Defence A310 developed a engine fire. Substantial flames can clearly be seen emanating from the port engine as it slows down during its landing roll-out. |

L7845 Largely intact, the tail section is the most recognisable remains of this Wellington bomber which crashed near Ben Tirran, Angus, 67 years ago, killing four of the five crew members on board. The Wellington’s geodetic design, developed by Barnes Wallis, can clearly be seen in this shot, and despite the ravages of time, is still in remarkable condition. The crash site, one of many littering the Scottish mountains, serves as a memorial to those who died in the accident. |

04-4082 / FF (cn 645-4082) Sadly, this was the only chance to see the full display by the Raptor Demonstration Team in the UK. Seen here blasting off Fairford's runway trailing wingtip streamers and leaving an impressive sea of jetwash in its wake. This particular aircraft was inscribed "192d FW" on the tail fins, and appears to carry a small "anti-cloaking" device below the centre fuselage in common with other "stealth" aircraft during non-operational flying. |

ZA597 / AJ-O (cn 116/BS038/3061) Unaware that their aircraft has a serious fuel leak, the crew of this Lossie Wing Tornado GR4 taxi onto the runway to await their turn for take-off. The leak was spotted by the runway caravan controller and the aircraft aborted its departure prior to being abandoned at the holding point by its crew. |
