Remark
Photographer
G-ATOY / 99 (cn 24-4346) Sheila Scott achieved ninety-four record breaking flights in 'Myth Too'. This Comanche crashed on the 6th March 1979 and was subsequently declared an insurance write off. An unfortunate end to the flying career of this famous aeroplane. The inscription on the fuselage lists some of the records achieved.

Atlas Cheetah D2
Pretoria - Waterkloof (FAWK)
South Africa, March 17, 1997
Remark
Photographer
847 (cn 205) This modified Cheetah D is fitted with a Russian Klimov SMR-95 engine (a development of the RD-33 used in the MiG-29) The engine offered improved performance although centre of gravity problems were experienced. A big thank-you to the SAAF at Waterkloof for the extensive and well-coordinated photo visit, especially the surprise visit to 'D Flight' for the Cheetah.

Boeing Vertol CH-47C Chinook
Portsmouth - Fleetlands (EGVF)
UK - England, June 11, 1983
Remark
Photographer
AE-520 (cn B-797/CG-101) Someone with a sense of humour has been playing Scrabble with the previous player's word! - EJERCITO. This Chinook that belonged to the Argentine Army - Ejército Argentino (the 'previous player'!) was captured by the British Forces during the Falklands/Malvinas Conflict on 14th June 1982. The helicopter was brought to Fleetlands, subsequently allocated serial ZH257 and used as a trainer.

USA - Coast Guard
Lockheed NC-130H Hercules (L-382)
St. Petersburg / Clearwater - International (PIE / KPIE)
USA - Florida, July 15, 1993
Remark
Photographer
1721 (cn 382-5121) Used by the USCG for counter-narcotics missions until budget cuts terminated the program. My visit (by appointment) to photograph the EC-130V unfortunately coincided with two storms over Clearwater. The station radar operator said 'now is as good as it's going to get!' So this is 'now', still raining and blue skies just a few miles away! The yellow cones surrounding the aircraft are each marked 'restricted area'. Many thanks to the personnel at USCG Air Station Clearwater for their time and help.
