Embraer EMB-145EP (ERJ-145EP)
London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL)
UK - England, August 18, 2010
Remark
Photographer
G-RJXC (cn 145153) A bank of clouds, that remained persistently in the otherwise clear sky, frame this sunset picture out on the top leaving the other two thirds in matt orange. Additionally the horizon can be clearly seen on the fuselage separating the firing sky from the dark ground.

First Choice Airways
Boeing 757-2Y0
Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, February 23, 2008
Remark
Photographer
G-CPEP (cn 25268/400) Although the sun has already been gone a while ago and darkness set in, the sunrays far behind the mountains keep reflecting the light indirectly on light surfaces like scattered on tiny particles in the sky or reflected in the snow. Compare the weakness of colour in the gloomy sky with its intensity of it in the snow on the mountain slope. With an average reflectivity rate of at least 85% snow has among the highest of all surfaces, meaning that it throws back nearly the same amount of solar radiation that strikes it. A sun blocker would maybe not fail to be a First Choice either. ;-)

Emirates
Airbus A380-861
London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL)
UK - England, August 18, 2010
Remark
Photographer
A6-EDF (cn 007) What a beautiful evening it was! As the giant whale comes into light at a cloudy 'Row, shiny silver sections start glowing in the sun as it glides in on very final approach to runway 27L. Even from this tilted angle the GP7000 engines look still tremendously huge that carry the sleek heavy metal all around safely. It is said this type of engine produces less than 75g of carbon dioxyide emission per passenger and kilometer - almost half of the European target for cars manufactured in 2008.

Gulfstream Aerospace G-IV Gulfstream IV-SP
Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, January 8, 2011
Remark
Photographer
N235KK (cn 1458) A great day to pick for any kind of activity outside your four walls and when considering aviation photography, trafficwise, that afternoon certainly paid off. The swung cheatline gives this Gulfstream IV a much fresher look, I think, where furthermore it is the orange winglets that make the dot on the I. The business jet is operated by CPI Aviation which sits in Cape Coral (Florida) and has been flying for Wells Fargo Bank Northwest NA Trustee since 2007.

Thomas Cook Airlines
Boeing 757-28A
Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, December 21, 2010
Remark
Photographer
G-FCLA (cn 27621/738) With two heavy streams of jetblast, the Kestrel heats up the wintery backdrop as it blasts off at a seemingly incredible rate of climb. Since winter season 10/11 it is especially Tuesdays which became pretty busy, offering a nice alternative to the usual charter services on the weekends. Gear up - bound for Manchester (MAN/EGCC) to bring back some winter tourists.

Cessna 560XL Citation XLS
Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, January 8, 2011
Remark
Photographer
D-CKHG (cn 560-5667) Operating for Windrose Air Charter since May 2008, this Citation 560XL is climbing out on yet another business flight after resting nearly four hours on the ground. The redish lines on the fuselage match right with the colour of the soil in the back that sparkles through the trees - something which could be seen as a pity in January after all these years with snow there. As "Quadriga394Q" on a visual departure out of rwy26.

Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, December 5, 2010
Remark

P4-AND (cn 750-0075) P4-AND quite is a proper visitor to Innsbruck when you compare the matches of this jet in the database. Operating flights for Avangard Aviation, time has come to get back to business again after a rest on a snowy apron of a quite frosty Sunday evening. The de-icing truck is seen buzzing around in the back preparing her for her next deal. Dedicated to fellow Martin Plattner. Thx mate!

Austrian Arrows (Tyrolean Airways)
Bombardier DHC-8-402 Q400
Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, December 5, 2010
Remark
Photographer
OE-LGJ (cn 4104) As it can obviously be seen, snow has now finally touched Innsbruck too and with temperatures being around zero, the snow keeps lying on the apron - even at those places where the jet blast will do away with it quite quickly usually. The daily Austrian 287 is about to disengage the brakes and set off its journey to Frankfurt at 18:35 LT. Dedicated to Martin Plattner. Awesome. ;-)

Sepecat Jaguar GR3A
Off-Airport - London
UK - England, August 18, 2010
Remark
Photographer
XZ118 (cn S119) An unfriendly morning transferred sightseeing indoor where Britain’s taste of excellence in the fine arts did not only amuse Her Majesty’s but also some random tourists. :P The first proper say in cultural delivery had this fighter jet, laying belly-up in Tate Britain Museum in London which altogether featured two jets in total. The polished rear wings serve as a mirror giving the impression of a double-appearance of the setting. The distinctive interior of the building plus windows and the pillars in the back dive it really into a charming mood, making time pass by quickly!

Myvatn - Reykjahlid (MVA / BIRL)
Iceland, August 2010
Remark
Photographer
The village of Reykjahlíð, which this shallow airfield belongs to, has approximately 300 inhabitants and is situated on the shores of Lake Mývatn in the north of Iceland. Here we look down the gravel strip of runway 02 with the maintenance building on the left, a hangar on the right and with a lush green landscape in the back.

Untitled
Gulfstream Aerospace G-V-SP Gulfstream G550
Egilsstadir (EGS / BIEG)
Iceland, August 2010
Remark
Photographer
N105ST (cn 5170) The picture shows this very remote and idle sitting airport in idyllic landscape where sunrays are usually rather rare. Luckily enough here, sunny patches attributed to light up the frame as the annual average mean temperature are floppy four degrees in this area giving it at least a bit warmer look here. At times, Egilsstadir apparently also serves as alternate for Keflavik (KEF/BIKF) Airport, although regional and - obviously - business traffic is handled. This Gulf has been with Aircraft Sales, Acquisition and Consulting company Emerald Aviation Inc Trustee since February 29th, 2009. Dedicated to GK.

Oman Air
Airbus A330-243
London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL)
UK - England, August 18, 2010
Remark
Photographer
A4O-DC (cn 1049) Head on with a sharp looking A330 at full focal length allowing the low sun to reveal some kind parts of the undercarriage. Reflections of surroundings can be seen on the belly while the spinning engines are fully enlighted and dived into a burning red light that is emphasized by the already yellow striped cone. On finals for 27L inbound from Muscat.

Thomson Airways
Boeing 757-2Y0
Innsbruck - Kranebitten (INN / LOWI)
Austria, March 27, 2010
Remark
Photographer
G-CPEP (cn 25268/400) There are several things missing, like sun, snow, winglets and condensation which would have rounded this one up to maybe its best. But the contours of this classy 757 body just look even more attractive through a prime lens than any crop job in PS. Spot here rising out from 26 on their very last rotation for the season. Dedicated to Dominik Steindl - get us that lens again! :P
