XJ314 Clearly a crowd puller, this amazing 'aircraft' on display at Farnborough in 1955 is the Rolls Royce Thrust Measuring Rig, better known as the 'Flying Bedstead'. Two were constructed, being XJ314 (now at the Science Museum) and XK426 which was destroyed in a fatal crash in 1957. Photo D.W.Baldock. |

50-1054 / FA-054 (cn 880-8025) Marked as 50-1054, in reality was 50-0980. The distinctive elongated nose of the Lockheed F-94C Starfire at Wright-Patterson AFB. Intended as an interim type the Starfire scored kills in Korea and proved to be an effective night interceptor. |
