Untitled
Avro 698 Vulcan B2
Waddington (WTN / EGXW)
UK - England, July 5, 2008
Remark
Photographer
G-VLCN / XH558 (cn SET12) Having received a permit to fly just two days earlier, this was the first flying display by a Vulcan for 15 years. What a stroke of genius to fly it in formation with PA474, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster - probably the two most significant RAF bombers in the air together

Aeroelvira
Edgley EA-7 Optica Srs 301
Northampton - Sywell (ORM / EGBK)
UK - England, September 6, 2009
Remark
Photographer
G-BOPO (cn 021) It was a real treat to see an Optica in the air again. The Optica first flew in 1979 with the unusual ducted fan pusher propellor. It has excellent low speed characteristics and superb all round visibility making it a cheaper alternative to helicopters for surveillance operations such as Police work. It is hoped that these may soon re-enter production

British Airtours
Lockheed L-1011-385-1-15 TriStar 200
London - Gatwick (LGW / EGKK)
UK - England, June 1, 1981
Remark
Photographer
G-BHBP (cn 193N-1211) This is a typical early 1980s scene at Gatwick, from the long-closed superb viewing deck. Tristars from British Airtours and TWA, DC 10s from Laker and British Caledonian and Boeing 747s from Cathay Pacific and Braniff are at the terminal. Dan Air BAC 1-11 and Boeing 727 can be seen as can a Scimitar Airlines Boeing 707

LOT - Polish Airlines / Polskie Linie Lotnicze
Embraer ERJ-170-100LR 170LR
Lviv (Lvov) - Danylo Halytsky (Snilow) (LWO / UKLL)
Ukraine, August 7, 2005
Remark
Photographer
SP-LDH (cn 17000069) On taking off from LWO this was the sight with 87 aircraft of various types visible in this shot alone. I believe that the blue and white Su27 in the compound at the bottom was the one involved in the worlds worst airshow disaster on 28th July 2002 when 84 people were killed and more than 100 injured. The pilot and co-pilot survived and were each sentenced to eight years imprisonment for negligence.
