Untitled
De Havilland DH-87B Hornet Moth
Off-Airport - Woburn Abbey
UK - England, August 16, 2014
Remark
Photographer
G-AELO (cn 8105) The prototype Hornet Moth first flew in May 1934 making this year the 80th anniversary. I was asked to set this photograph up on the lawn of Woburn Abbey with the permission of the Duke of Bedford. It has eleven of the twelve airworthy examples on the UK register present. It is in tribute to the Flying Duchess, Mary Russell, Duchess of Bedford who disappeared in her aircraft in March 1937, aged 71 years

West Tisted
UK - England, June 7, 2014
Remark
Photographer
I had never heard of this unlicensed Hampshire airfield until a few weeks before. A delightful place with a 1000m grass runway and aircraft parked in a clearing amongst the trees. A fly-in was taking place and this was taken from Vans RV-6 G-RVST. Many thanks to Jeff Rooney for the flight

Untitled
De Havilland (BBC) DH-98 Mosquito
Northampton - Sywell (ORM / EGBK)
UK - England, August 31, 2013
Remark
Photographer
F-PMOZ / PZ460/NE-K (cn 01) This is a 3/4 scale Mosquito which first flew on 23rd April 2011. It looks remarkably like the full size aircraft, a real tribute to the 30,000 hours and 17 years of work. The livery is that of an aircraft lost on 15th January 1945 in Norway, piloted by Max Guedj with Flight Lieutenant Langley as Navigator. It was a welcome visitor to the LAA Rally

Boeing 747-312
Kemble (EGBP)
UK - England, April 5, 2014
Remark
Photographer
TF-AME (cn 23032/603) The worn seats show that this aircraft has had a hard life. It is present at Air Salvage International where it waits to be broken up, though it is largely intact. Its final flights were on Hadj journeys from Nigeria

Eastern Air Lines (Lockheed)
Lockheed L-1011-385-1 TriStar 1
Nottingham / Leicester / Derby - East Midlands (Castle Donington) (EMA / EGNX)
UK - England, June 5, 1971
Remark
Photographer
N301EA (cn 193A-1003) This was the largest aircraft that had visited Castle Donington at that time, taken there to be shown to the Rolls Royce employees that had developed the RB211 engine that powered the aircraft. Same registration N301EA later used on cn 1002, following delivery in March 1973. Taken on an old folding roll film camera and scanned from a 6 x 9 cm negative which was probably developed by me in print developer!
