5V-TGF (cn 46071/469) There are moments at the airport and then you have the moment. I'm still convinced that this was the moment at Lisbon airport, when a major summit brought to us rare and older machines. Suddenly, a few decades on the history of jet aircrafts was in display right in front of us. The DC-8 the 707, the 737, the 777 even the 757 was there, not to mention the 767 and the classic A300. Wonderful. Simply wonderful. |

CS-TKM (cn 661) Slats and flaps being armed as we start our NDB approach to rwy 03 to land in amazing Boa Vista island in Cape Verde, the new hit when we talk about sunny holiday destinations just a few hours from Europe. The beach you see down below is the Boa Esperança (good hope) with its sunk ship is one of the island postcards and it is one of the most spectacular I've ever been. Several kilometres of pristine sand, tepid ocean water with turtles and only 5 persons. Wow! What a great place to visit. |

N674MG (cn 21450/1308) A sight not be seen again in airports in the US. A B727 in pax version with a US based airline operating a commercial flight. I was extremely happy to see a couple of machines of Champion Air operating in Los Angeles while I was there, but sadly a few months later the last commercial operator of 727 pax version went bankrupt closing a chapter on the history of this gracious aircraft. Many thanks to all those who made this unforgettable ramp shot possible. |

EP-IAM (cn 21759/381) I could hardly believe my luck when I saw this amazingly elegant classic on the short final for the 27L in Heathrow. This beauty was delivered back in 1979 and 30 years later still goes strong as one of the last -100 series pax version in the world. I just can't resist the classics. This one goes for the Iranian spotters and for their exceptional work. Take good care of this classic! |

Here is something I've been wanting to do for quite a while. An overview of Cascais Airfield on the outskirts of Lisbon and an airport I enjoy going mostly in the winter when it's mild and sunny. This is also a very well known airport for many Portuguese pilots as several flight schools are based there. A nice place indeed. |

CS-TBD (cn 19969/751) Here it is "Lourenço Marques" the new star of the Sintra Air Museum. The classic scheme of TAP on what is left from the 707 that was parked for years on Lisbon airport and it was scrapped. This airframe started it's life exactly like this and with this reg before being sold to Zaire Government where it got the reg 9T-MSS. Lovely paint job from the team in Sintra and I can't wait to see the cockpit! |

1316 (cn OGMA-06) I could hardly believe my luck when I saw this rare moment. Two of the remaining six active Chipmunks with Portuguese Air Force arriving to Sintra after what I suppose to be an instruction flight. It's far better to get the real deal in such a cool and relaxed way instead of having to visit museums to see those vintage machines. |

CU-U1610 Ahhh....Summer fun by the beach! This nice little machine makes slow and low sightseeing flights over Varadero beach in Cuba and all the times I saw it there was an happy holiday maker snapping photos. Quite a nice way to enjoy the views. A special thanks to Oly720man for helping me with the model of this aircraft. [30D+100-400@310mm] |

XA-UHZ (cn 21816/592) Uuhh...that's what I call luck!! Two extremely rare classic B732 for the eyes of an European, both delivered back in 1979 and still active almost 30 years later meet at Havana Airport on a sunny yet very windy morning. Shot taken from the vicinity of the Terminal 3 using 210mm and lots of discretion. |

CS-HCY (cn 1730) The last registration on my 2008 log was this nice Ecureuil on the short final for the Funchal harbour heliport after another sightseeing flight over Madeira island aka the Atlantic pearl. I really have to try one of these flights someday. |

OE-LEO (cn 2668) To be really honest I didn't want to return home and leave Palma de Mallorca behind. The warm Med down below and the white sandy beaches are simply fantastic, not to mention the great night life and of course the airport. Ah...the summer's vida loca! ;-) |

Oh yes, what a great way to start the new year. For quite a while, Funchal airport has been on the top of my preferences for photography and I think it is easy to understand the reason why. Luckily I got an A320 with Sata taking off and a F100 from PGA on the very short final. |

N740CK (cn 24405/745) While on my back the wrecks of the crashed Kalitta were still being removed, their new 744 was passing right in front of my lense. Note also the interesting background with two 146's with Air DC and the Hewa Bora 763. |
