ZK-OKP (cn 39041/972) The Hobbit Jet is Air New Zealand's latest special livery plane, commemorating the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Its decal measures 830 square metres and required 400 man hours to apply. Note also the black tail and the font of the title, which will soon become the standard for the normal livery. Seen here doing the necessary tests before it begins flying. |

A6-EDZ (cn 107) Seen here clearing water off 23L in Auckland on her maiden return voyage to Dubai via Sydney. Auckland now sees two daily Emirates A380s and it just happened that the newest and oldest (EDA) were here at the same time. This one completes the EDx registrations and the next one will be A6-EEA. |

B-KPD (cn 36155/680) Breakfast is being enjoyed (or otherwise) by the rear Economy section on CX251 from Hong Kong to London Heathrow. This plane at the time was the latest to be refitted with the new Economy seats, replacing the horrible fixed shell reclining chairs. |

N229UA (cn 30557/388) This United 777-200 climbs out over the Pacific Ocean after departing 25R. The last time I saw this bird was in February, when it was in the Battleship Grey livery; the last remaining mainline UA plane to wear it (ID:2174298). Dedicated to Sam Chui - thanks for the inspiration following your numerous LAX shots! |
