D-ABVH (cn 25045/845) Emergency landing at Terceira island! This flight "LH499" was cruising through the Atlantic (departed from Mexico to Frankfurt) when the crew had to divert to Lajes due to smoke on board! Got stuck here until the next day, when another B747 came to pick the passengers and brought the maintenance team to figure out the problem. [Canon 7D + Sigma 120-400] |

07-7189 (cn F-206/P-189) This C-17 was damaged in Afghanistan back in January 2012 when it overran the runway due to bad weather!! The airplane is clearly mistreated and the front door is now gone, but I must admit that the crew did a spectacular shot field landing braking hard after touch-down!
