VH-BLN / 320 (cn 2846) I was driving through the small town of Kinglake when I heard a chopper close by. A quick dash to the back yard of the Kinglake Pub revealed 'Firebird 320' just landing. Unfortunately I was just too late to catch it in the air. It's evidently based there as there were a couple of drums of Avtur lying on the grass. This 1979 JetRanger was registered new in Australia on 27 February 1980 as VH-BLN(3). |

25-1007 Ray Hill at the Avalon Airshow, about to make what is thought to have been the first public truck-top takeoff and landing in Australia. As far as I can make out, this aircraft is also possibly the first, if not only, A618 model built. |
