VH-ZAX (cn 10-54) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - One of the more unusual birds at the air show was this German built Stemme S-10 powered glider. The aircraft has a deployable propeller enabling self-powered take off. Once you are at the desired altitude you switch off the engine and the prop is stowed & the nose cone is retracted. It has a 50:1 glide ratio. It also comes with optional folding wings for ease of taxiing and stowage. It has a top speed of 140kts and a range of around 700NM. This aircraft was manufactured in 1993, & first registered in Australia on the 16th of November of the same year. |

VH-SCI (cn 20700357) Parafield Airport had a visitor from Arkaroola in outback central South Australia. Doug Sprigg bought down his rare Cessna 207 Stationair for a servicing. Arkaroola is without a doubt one of my favourite places to visit in the Spring. Well worth a visit if you're in town at the right time of the year. This particular aircraft was manufactured in 1976 and first registered in Australia on the 20th December of that year. There was a mere 13 of this type on the civil register as this image was submitted. |

VH-BZL (cn RK-139) This Beechjet 400A departed Parafield, South Australia at 11:35 on this morning for short jaunt to Coffs Harbour, Queensland with 1 hour 41mins flying time. The aircraft returned to Parafield on the same day landing at 17:05. It's a nice looking machine and obviously very slick in the skies too. The aircraft was manufactured in 1997 and first registered in Australia on the 6th of July 1999. |

VH-WAR (cn 2131) Avalon International Air Show 2013 - This Robinson R44, pilot and son departed the final public day at the air show. I slowed the shutter speed down as much as I dared considering the rotor wash to 1/80th of a second to maximise the blur. This aircraft was constructed in 2011 and first registered in Australia on the 15th of August of that year. |

VH-ZLG (cn 340B-375) At Albury Airport I was expecting a lot more air traffic of the rotary wing type from Avalon International Air Show on route to Sydney, but there were only a few Robinsons and the HARS aircraft flying over head. This SAAB 340 of Regional Express (REX) departed Albury from runway 07. This aircraft was manufactured in 1995 and first registered in Australia on the 26th of September 2007. |

VH-MNM (cn 10684) Avalon International Air Show 2013 - At the heliport of the airfield this Robinson R44 paid a visit on the last trade day of the event. This aircraft seemingly has undergone a paint job in recent years. It was manufactured in 2005 and first registered in Australia on the 18th of May of that same year. |

VH-OTU (cn 337M0420) Parafield Airport, South Australia - Upon visiting a fellow LAME, I heard about this Cessna O-2A down in S.A. from Townsville, Queensland. I decided attempt some photos after sunset with a pleasant result I think. The aircraft adorns the name "Red Rat". |

9H-AVK (cn 4622) Avalon International Air Show 2013 - On board the luxuriously appointed Airbus A319 corporate jet. This photo shows the rear lounge and master bedroom which has its own ensuite. I wonder what is in the minibar?. Thank you to the very accommodating Airbus staff on board at the air show. It was a pleasure meeting and talking to you. |

VH-BRB (cn 11684) Avalon International Air Show 2013 - After a long trade day at the show the weather is clearing up, so I decided to check out the Helipad to see what is there and coming and going. This beauty just arrived and my camera was ready. A slick looking corporate machine it is. Note the civil registration VH-BRB for Burbank, clever. This particular aircraft was manufactured in 2006 and first registered in Australia on the 21st of November of that year. |

Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Taken from one of the Barossa Helicopter Robinson R44's (VH-YBI) with the doors removed this photo shows the number of aircraft and spectators at the airshow. Thanks to Steve Ahrens and the St Jakobi Lutheran school of Lyndoch and its staff for making the event possible. The Barossa Airshow is reputed to be the only airshow in the world operated by a school. |

VH-DHA / A17-518 (cn DHA941/T222) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Daniel Pluess gets ready for engine start at the Air Show for a formation of a trio of Tigers. Here VH-CDM and VH-ABL lead the take off followed by VH-DHA. In the following week these three particular aircraft and another two (VH-AUZ and VH-ZIS) helped commemorate ANZAC Day by providing a fly-over along King William Street along the parade providing an aerial display of warbirds in the skies above Adelaide... Lest we Forget... |

VH-DND (cn 337-0006) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Jeff Morgan and the two boys leave YRWF in his Cessna 337 Skymaster. During the day’s proceedings, Jeff provided a spectacular handling display for the spectators including several high speed low level passes. It is indeed one of my favourite aircraft. |

VH-ODH / 584 (cn 802-0114) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Aerotech Australiasia and this AT-802 provided the spectators of the Air Show a water bombing demonstration where it dumped around 3,000 litres of water. This aircraft is vital during the fire season here in Australia. Its response time is 3 mins and has a reload time of merely 2 mins once on the ground. It can deliver 37,000 litres per hour of water/retardant. |
