Remark
Photographer
FAE0-91647 (cn 159-159) "Museo Aeronautico de la Fuerza Aerea Ecuatoriana" Ex 49-1647, N9859C. This Trojan was converted from an -A to a -D model before going to the Ecuadorian Air Force in the 1970's. It is shown here heavily armed as though the Trojan was primarily a trainer it could also be used for armed missions, most notably counter-insurgency for which it proved to be very well suited. Ecuatoriana
Douglas UC-67 Dragon (B-23)
Quito - Mariscal Sucre (UIO / SEQU) (closed)
Ecuador, August 12, 2014
Remark
Photographer
HC-APV (cn 2717) "Museo Aeronautico de la Fuerza Aerea Ecuatoriana" Ex USAAC 39-0031, NC51436, N400W and N4000W. The B-23 was designed as a twin-engined medium bomber but due to a lack of performance compared to other bombers of that time like e.g. the B-25, it was produced in small numbers only and was never used in combat abroad. The displayed aircraft went to US civilian operators after WWII and came to Ecuador in 1968. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm]
