Duxford (EGSU)
UK - England, July 12, 2014
Remark
Photographer
44-51228 (cn 6083) "Imperial War Museum" The B-24M was the last production version of the Liberator; it was a lighter version of the B-24L. However many were never put into service and went from the factory straight to the scrapyard. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]

Duxford (EGSU)
UK - England, July 12, 2014
Remark
Photographer
54-2165 / VM (cn 223-45) "Imperial War Museum" Ex 42165 with the Armée de l'air. The F-100D was developed primarily as a ground attack aircraft, a role it fulfilled until being replaced by the more capable F105s and later F-4s. The one on display at the IWM served with the French Armée de l'air until being retired in 1977. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]

Germany - Air Force
Heinkel He-162A-1 Volksjager
Duxford (EGSU)
UK - England, July 12, 2014
Remark
Photographer
120235 / 6 (cn 120235) "Imperial War Museum" The He-162 was quickly developed and put into service by the Germans at the end of WWII. Ideally it would have been produced in great numbers to be able to turn the overall bad situation around. Despite being an excellent aircraft, production issues and the rapid advance of the Allies on all fronts did not allow the He162 to influence the course of the war. The displayed aircraft was captured at Leck near the Danish border. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]

Remark
Photographer
G-BPIV (cn 10201) "Imperial War Museum" The restoration of the Bolingbroke obviously takes much longer than initially anticipated. The cockpit section looks ready to go though. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]
