5A-CAA (cn 3654701211080/22-03) Almost reminiscent of the new An-148, a very unusual sight is this An-74 variant with the engines underslung rather than overwing as usual. Ex UR-PAV and acquired in 5.09, fitted with a very impressive VIP interior |

LC1417 (cn 01317) One of the two Libyan Mils adapted for fire suppression work by Sevastopol Aircraft Plant a couple of years ago. Has a 4000l tank and can pick up from very shallow depths - gave a water dumping demonstration after picking up in the sea just outside the base during show next day. Manufactured in 1982 but had only accumulated about 250 hours by the mid-90s |

508 One of 20 Libyan F1s. It was noticeable that the floodlights surrounding the airfield were left on all day - perhaps they don't have to worry too much in a country where petrol is 20 cents a litre |

545 (cn 545) Libya was a major customer of the SF.260 with an order for 240 of this trainer/tactical support version, some to be assembled in a new plant near Tripoli from the late 1970s. How many were actually delivered is unknown, but at least 12 were recently serviceable after refurbishment, while many of the others have found their way to countries like Burkino Faso, Burundi, Chad, Uganda and Nicaragua. This is one of four just landed after a performance by the Al Fatah Air Show Team |
