N538AT (cn 538) Upper panel of this turboprop, about ten minutes after landing in this hot and humid island. Thanks to the friendly captain & first officer. I wish all AA crews were so welcoming as them. |

CP-2462 (cn 22158/1642) SRE truly is a spotter’s paradise. Unfortunately, there is an average of only 3 flights per day. Rwy 05 has no lighting whatsoever, nor any kind of approach or landing guidance systems. As you can see, at its beginning it goes up-slope for a short while and then down-slope. |

N657UA (cn 27112/479) Flight UA846 between EZE and IAD. Economy Class Cabin with no single free seat. Picture taken after nine and a half hours flying time. Two additional waiting hours at the gate in EZE –due to a technical issue- should also be counted. About 45 minutes before landing, note that most of the passengers are watching the GPS map on their small LCD screens. I was the last passenger to embark, so I was assigned the least wanted seat onboard: last row, middle seat amid both aisles. |

PR-M** Picture taken from the little veranda of our room in Pousada Favelinha, located in the upper part of Favela Pereira da Silva. Jetliners headed to SDU’s rwy 02 flew directly overhead of us before making a tight left turn, flying past Sugar Loaf and landing. SDU operations start shortly before dawn, being TAM’s A319 usually the first two inbound airliners. |

CP-2447 (cn 22409/1676) A/c taxies to the gate with its outboard right main landing gear tire blown. I didn’t note it until I later met the captain, who kindly informed me of this incident. The intact tire had also to be replaced, since it was subjected to overstress. According to him, LPB is a real tricky place to land because of the thin air (4,000 m.a.s.l.). Even the 3-engined B727 needs sometimes almost full throttle during final approach. Other jets, like B737-200, aren’t, due to the same reason, safe enough to operate here. |

TC-91 (cn 21070/897) This is one of the last Boeing 707 in the world fitted with a passenger cabin that still flies regularly revenue passenger service (in her case with LADE). Picture taken a couple of minutes after this senior bird landed. Note the cabin lighting still on. I would be so glad if I could once fly in one of these grand-daddies of modern passenger jets!! |
