HL7741 (cn 708) OZ 768 pushed back for engine start and departure to Seoul. My first time shooting this rather exotic airline! Asiana was rated the world's second best airline for 2012 (behind Qatar Airways) and one of only seven 5-star airlines for 2013 by Skytrax (the others being Singapore Airlines, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Hainan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Qatar Airways - all of them Asian!). Many thanks to Michael Brazier for his editing help. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM] |

Breathtaking overview of HKIA - one of the largest and busiest passenger and cargo hubs in the world! 12 Boeing 747s (including 4 747-8Fs), 3 MD-11Fs, 2 A330Fs, 3 A300Fs and a sole 777F can be seen on the cargo ramp in the foreground, as well as the Hong Kong Air Freight Terminal and the huge Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal on the right of the frame. I lost count of the airplanes at the passenger terminal! Many thanks to Michael Brazier for his editing help. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM] |

JA705J (cn 32893/446) Thrust reversers in action on "Japan Air 749" inbound from Tokyo-Narita, operated by this 777 in the older livery. This was a Boeing 787 route up until the airplanes were grounded in January 2013. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM] |

VT-GOL (cn 5463) GoAir's first sharklet-equipped A320 hurtles down the runway for take-off as G8 117 to Bangalore. This is also the first sharkletted A320 to arrive in India. I think they look great! [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM] |

AP-BCD (cn 23297/1122) This is the aircraft that marked the beginning of Emirates back in 1985 when they leased it from PIA to start operations. Today, their fleet numbers almost 200 aircraft and they fly to all six inhabited continents. For pure historical value, this airplane deserves to be in an Emirates museum when it is retired! "Pakistan 271" to Lahore catches the sun while holding short of the active for an arrival. My first time shooting PIA as well as a Boeing 737-300! [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM] |

N883FD (cn 39285/897) An ultra wide-angle perspective of the 777F. "Abbi" was resting prior to her flight back to Memphis via Dubai, with her nose wheels weighed down to prevent the tail from tipping. Gotta love those raked wingtips! [Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM] |

VH-EBS (cn 1258) "Jetstar 63" makes a splash on arrival from Darwin, enroute to Osaka-Kansai. This aircraft wears yet another variant of the Jetstar titles. It's anyone's guess as to how long this one will last before they come up with another change! [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM] |

VT-SUM (cn 4402) 1/60s panning on SG 2115 to Chandigarh. This aircraft is named "Jaiphal", which means nutmeg in Hindi. ATR's long standing monopoly of the Indian turboprop market is now threatened by these beautiful Q400s, which are giving them a run for their money! [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM] |

G-VGOA (cn 371) Close encounters of the heavy kind! "Virgin 300" makes a greaser of an entrance on arrival from London-Heathrow. A few seconds later, the smell of burnt rubber hit me! "Indian Princess" is the oldest A340-600 in Virgin's fleet, and still in the old colours. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 70-200mm f/4L USM] |
