5N-AUG (cn 329) Cockpit of this ex Nigerian Airways A310 is looking a little "economy class" these days. I assume the Nigerian crew did not have to sit on aluminium patio furniture, staring at the instruments through smoked perspex?!! |

N87SB (cn SPI-3001) The Smokey Bear special-shape hot-air balloon unfortunately got caught then shredded on the top of this 700-foot radio antenna on the last day of the 2004 International Balloon Fiesta. An extremely scary incident for the pilot and his two passengers. You can see the two passengers already making their way down the tower and the pilot stepping from the basket onto the tower. Note that everybody was safe and unharmed. A freak windshear is suspected to be the cause of the accident. |

OO-VLM (cn 20135) VLM's flight VG215 arrives from Rotterdam (RTM). As you can see, the descent to LCY's Rwy 10 brings the traffic right over the City of London skyline. Always a spectacular place to fly in or out of - just keep your fingers crossed that you're flying over London and not in the opposite direction over Essex! Beautiful still night on the Royal Victoria Dock. |

44-74216 / A-24 (cn 122-40756) Overview of Battleship Memorial Park, Mobile, AL. Hurricane Katrina ripped through Mobile in August 2005, destroying the museum's Aircraft Pavillion building and severely damaging most of the aircraft exhibits inside. This Mustang wound up with a helicopter resting on top of it, and lost its tail. The Crusader was luckier, with only rudder damage. The Skyhawk sustained a lot of damage. Unfortunately all this broken hardware is now left outside during tropical storms, like today. |

N87KA (cn 11) My 3000th photo on airliners.net. Midnight at Kenmore Air's base. Frequent shipping movements to the neighbouring gravel depot made this long-exposure shot quite a challenge. Three hours of trying resulted in this nice tack-sharp six-minute exposure. |

D-ABYM (cn 21588/342) I was very lucky to get such a sharp image, in the middle of the night, with "Schleswig-Holstein" just 40 feet from the ground! The fuselage skin is amazing - the ripples and reinforcements really stand out in this lighting. |

G-BBDG (cn 202/13523) The first opportunity to see the cockpit in the 32-year history of this Concorde. This airframe performed much of the pre-certification testing for Concorde and spent many years stored at Bristol-Filton. Moved here two years ago in pieces, her re-assembly will be complete by mid-summer 2006. Huge kudos to the great folks at the Brooklands Museum for all their hard work. Notice the rather distorted and discoloured view through the complex titlitng-nose cockpit glass. |

01 (cn 01) The amazing creation of Rene Leduc, who sucessfully demonstrated his obsession with the ramjet engine concept. The Leduc 010 was released at altitude from a four-engined Sud SE-161 Languedoc transport aircraft (a section of which is retained here). After release the pilot would fire up the ramjet and the aircraft flew. This aircraft flew a test program until retirement in 1953. The pilots were VERY brave. |
