Seen in the afternoon from FL 340, en route to Canada. The Aviation Viewing Park is partially hidden by that thin cloud, but the Pub is clearly visible. Cheers ! |

Mid-afternoon view from FL 340 of a busy Heathrow, offering an update on terminal 5, and a view of the remains of the early runways that were abandoned in the late 50's upon building of the central terminals. Only aircraft that can be identified with no doubt, the BA Concorde is temporarly parked on the bank of runway 23, awaiting completion of her final exhibition place. |

Jumpseat view of NRT's second runway, opened in 2002 after more than 10 years of - still unresolved - dispute with local landowners, that led the original project to be shifted to the north. The unusable south section, marked by red crosses, is split from the 2.180 m runway by a private property. The taxiway deviates around another property; due to lack of lateral separation, aircraft must hold for traffic on the runway before entering the by-pass. |

N6**UP Wide-angle view, 1.000 feet below this old lady. 10 seconds behind, hot and cold flows are not yet fully mixed. Stare closely at the trails, rotating fast inwards, to feel their tremendous energy. They clearly show here the danger of flying too close at the same level. |
