The CATB is a modified Boeing 737-300 used to test the mission systems of the F-35 Lightning II. The external modifications include a sensor wing forward of the main wing, added structure on the top and at the bottom of the fuselage and a modified nose representing the F-35 nose. N24927 / 27 (cn 18) Commemorative Air Force Airshow 2007. This aircraft was part of an order for the UK, but was involved in an accident in Albuquerque, NM. Consolidated rebuilt it to a transport configuration and it was used as a company aircraft throughout World War II. During this period the aircraft became known as "Old 927". After the war the aircraft flew in South America before being acquired by the CAF in 1967. In 2007 the aircraft was restored to the original B-24A configuration and named "OL 927". NL82GA / 5 (cn 6046) Commemorative Air Force Airshow 2006. This aircraft was built by Douglas in El Segundo, CA. After the war this aircraft was used for aerial photography in Mexico. In 1964 the aircraft returned to USA and in 1970 the aicraft was purchased by the Commemorative Air Force. In 1990 the aircraft was restored to the orginal SBD-5 configuration. The color scheme it wears was in use at the time of the Battle of the Marianas on June 9th 1944. Now the aircraft performs at airshows. (Canon 350D + 100-400 L IS) |

N12102 / PQ-162 (cn 123-43748) Commemorative Air Force Airshow 2007. This Twin Mustang was built in 1944 and was donated to the CAF in 1966. The aircraft appeared at airshows in the 1980s after being restored to flying condition. On October 10, 1987 the aircraft stalled and made a crash landing at Harlingen, TX. Since then the aircraft hasn't been able to fly and it is currently located at the CAF headquartes in Midland, TX. (Canon 350D + 17-55 IS) |
