G-STBE (cn 38696/980) Due to major snow storms across Europe in January 2013, flight schedules were thrown out of gear. Heathrow airport was badly affected too, disrupting BA flight schedules completely. This gave us an opportunity to catch the BA 777-300 ER at BOM in daylight! A rescheduled BA 138 rotates powerfully off Runway 27 in the late afternoon. Lovely wing flex on this Triple Seven! |

VT-ANH (cn 36276/35) On January 16, 2013 the FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive ordering all U.S. based airlines to ground their Boeing 787s (United Airlines was the only U.S. airline operating the type at that time) until the electrical system was modified to reduce the risk of the battery overheating or catching fire. A day later, on January 17th, Air India decided to ground its 787s in view of the FAA directive. Naturally, we were surprised to see this bird being ferried to BOM for checks two days later! |

HU-512 (cn 85778) Aero India 2013 - A 1930s vintage Tiger Moth which was used by the IAF to train rookie pilots was painstakingly restored to flying condition by a UK based company - Reflight. The aircraft, made up of fabric and wood gave a spectacular display of its capabilities more than 70 years past its prime! Hats off to all those who worked endlessly to preserve, restore and fly this old lady! |
