ZS-OKG (cn 23483/1264) Birdstrike! Engineers are removing the nose cone of this 737, which had been struck by a yellow-billed kite while on take-off from Durban. In the absence of abnormal indications the crew continued the flight to Port Elizabeth, where the aircraft landed safely. A postflight inspection revealed this large dent on the aircraft nose. |

PH-MCB (cn 349) When Martinair first operated a widebody flight to Innsbruck, the airport did not have a tow-bar for an airliner this size yet and the aircraft had to be parked alongside the terminal building. Once the actual ambulance flight operations began (a year after this check flight), the necessary equipment was ready. Seen here during the smoky start-up before the flight back to Amsterdam. |
